Product Description
This 6-part anatomical model of the female pelvis is designed for detailed study of pelvic structure and topography. It shows the bones, ligaments, vessels, nerves, pelvic floor muscles, and female genital organs in a life-size format. The pelvic floor is represented with partially removable, midsagittally sectioned structures including the external anal sphincter, external urethral sphincter, deep and superficial transverse perineal muscles, and bulbospongiosus. The rectum, uterus with fallopian tubes, ovaries, and vagina can be removed and separated into two halves by midsagittal section for closer examination.
The right pelvic half illustrates the course and relationships of the common iliac artery, external iliac artery, internal iliac artery, common iliac vein, and external iliac vein. It also shows the right sacral plexus, right sciatic nerve, and right pudendal nerve. The model includes two hip bones, the pubic symphysis, sacrum, coccyx, and the fifth lumbar vertebra with intervertebral disc. A midsagittal section through the fifth lumbar vertebra, sacrum, and coccyx allows the pelvis to be disassembled to reveal part of the cauda equina in the vertebral canal. The left half of the fifth lumbar vertebral body is removable.
The right side of the model also presents multiple pelvic ligaments, including the inguinal ligament, sacrotuberous ligament, sacrospinous ligament, anterior sacroiliac ligaments, iliolumbar ligament, anterior longitudinal ligament, interosseous sacroiliac ligament, posterior sacroiliac ligament, and obturator ligament. This model is well suited for instruction and reference in female pelvic and genital anatomy.
