Product Description
This patented safety hook combines a normal, attractive appearance with design details intended to reduce self-harm and suicide risk. When used normally, it supports the weight of several garments or towels. If excessive downward force is applied, the anti-ligature function releases by allowing the hook to bend, helping the ligature slide off rather than remaining secured. The hook has been tested with vertical loads using a 1 mm string, an 8 x 1 mm shoelace, and a rope made from cotton sheets, releasing between 18.7 lbs. and 21.6 lbs. It was also tested at RISE/SP to withstand 1000 releases while retaining its shape and function.
