Product Description
FlexStep V2 is a versatile indoor access system that functions as both steps and a lift for wheelchair users. It is designed to help solve space limitations when a conventional staircase and a stairlift cannot both be accommodated. The 4+1 model includes a platform length of 1495 mm and is intended for travel up to 925 mm. For travel above 740 mm, the space-saving 2-stop point feature is required, where the upper step sits below the upper threshold and the threshold becomes step five in the staircase layout.
The fixed staircase is installed to the front wall and floor and can be configured with round or square balustrades to coordinate with the FlexStep design. The fold-down ramp allows users to roll onto and off the platform, and it must be raised and locked before movement begins. Safety features include pressure plates under the platform that stop operation if an object is detected, infra-red protection between the steps to reduce the risk of crushing, and automatic stopping in the event of overload or uneven weight distribution. Acoustic alarms provide movement alerts, and built-in batteries supply power during an outage.
