Product Description
Orfit Crystal NS is a transparent, low-temperature thermoplastic material used for fabrication of braces, splints, and orthoses. The clear material helps clinicians monitor wounds, healing progress, sensitive skin, and scar tissue while the support remains in place. It is also useful for checking anatomy during fitting and identifying pressure points without unnecessary removal of the device.
This sheet provides a soft, comfortable support for painful joints and offers limited support without fully immobilizing the patient. The material heats in about 5 minutes and can then be shaped and molded to the treatment area. As it cools, it may be trimmed, shaped, and reinforced as needed. The non-stick coating allows molding directly over bandages and cotton linings in post-surgical applications, and hook and loop tape may be used to help patients apply and remove the orthosis more easily.
Orfit Crystal NS is lightweight and flexible enough for use in a variety of clinical applications, including burn treatment where it may serve as an interface between burned skin and a hard-shell pressure mask. This individual sheet measures 18" x 24" x 3/32".
