Designed for accessible diabetes testing, the Prodigy Voice Meter delivers spoken instructions in English at each step, making it easier to navigate from setup to results. The meter requires no coding, powers on automatically when a test strip is inserted, and uses raised, imprinted buttons for straightforward operation. Results are available in 7 seconds, and the device supports Alternate Site Testing with a small blood sample size. Test sites can include the palm, forearm, upper arm, calf, or thigh.
The meter stores up to 450 test results with date and time, and it can display 7, 14, 21, 30, 60, and 90-day averages. A standard USB port allows results to be downloaded to Prodigy’s free diabetes management software. The unit also includes an automatic shutoff after one minute of inactivity to help conserve battery life. Fresh batteries are expected to last for approximately 1,000 tests. The meter can be cleaned by wiping the exterior with a damp cloth using mild detergent and water or rubbing alcohol.
