The Stroops Optimill is a motorless treadmill built to let the runner drive the belt with each stride rather than relying on a motor. This design supports a more authentic running motion while helping remove the risk of being pushed by a powered belt. The unit uses a shock-absorbing slat surface to help reduce joint stress, and the body is held in place by a Slastix resistance band attached to a steel spine. A wireless Polar HR monitor mounted in front allows real-time tracking of speed, heart rate, distance, and related workout data.
The Optimill is also designed with versatility in mind. The Slastix band can be configured to vary resistance when used with other equipment, and it can be positioned at the shoulders, waist, or chest for different running applications. It may also be used at the wrist or ankle to support gait correction work. With a low-profile design and a reported weight of 220 pounds, the Optimill is intended to be easier to move and position than many conventional treadmills. It can also be combined with the Movement Optimizer Rehabilitation Frame for expanded movement rehabilitation use.
